"an interesting shop of contemporary crafts"

Come in!
Yes...

We're open!
And 'tis the season?  We do weddings...

Squiggly
Wet squiggly road ahead!
From time to time during the winter.
So stop in and pause a while.  Relax.
Stand by the wood stove.
Say hello to Snoogans.
Feed the trout.
But don't feed the bears!
Watch out for the deer.
Don't run over the turkeys.

You are always welcome to shop for some of the finest stoneware on the continent.

Have you been here before?

If not... glad you found us.

If you have...  Welcome back!

We are the oldest craft shop in the same location in Georgia.  For 43 years now we have endeavered to provide the best functional stoneware by our own potters and from some specially selected potters around the southeast and U.S.A.  We are located on the Scenic 197 Moonshine Highway 10 miles north of Clarkesville, Georgia.

All of the pottery at Mark of the Potter is handcrafted in the U.S.A.

Special thanks to all the friends, neighbors and visitors locally and from around the world.  Mark of the Potter would not be the same without you!

All of our pottery is food safe using only lead-free glazes and clays.  Microwave safe and most are oven safe too.  They can be washed in the dishwasher or as some customers prefer, hand washed.

Drive on up or down the road to visit us and see what we have.

Recent Activities

Next kiln firing is... February 2013.

We always have lots of pottery available from our very own Mark of the Potter potters!

We are going to rely on our facebook page for the most recent happenings.  Things like potters and pottery coming in, etc.  So click on over there from time to time and see what's up.  If that doesn't work for you then by all means please let us know.

WELCOME TO WINTER!

As we move into winter and freezing, stormy weather,
be aware that sometimes our local phone service does not work.
If you call during business hours but don't get us then that is most likely the case.
We are likely open but we just can't hear you calling.
Our local phone service is intermittent and sometimes is even out all day.
Come on out to see us.  We'll be open anyway.
Call a neighbor if you like just to be sure.

And as always...

...Thank YOU for stopping in to see us!
