Welcome to Mark of the Potter!

"an interesting shop of contemporary crafts"

Remember just a few months ago?  We were all bundled up, fire blazing in the wood stove and outside...

WinterRiver

...and downstairs....

IceDownstairs

Well thank goodness it's warm outside now!

During our April through December spring, summer, fall seasons we are...

Open everyday, Monday through Sunday, 10am until 6pm.

Except for Christmas Day of course.

Have you been here before?

If not... glad you found us.

If you have...  Welcome back!

We are the oldest craft shop in the same location in Georgia.

For over 46 years now we have endeavered to provide the best functional stoneware by our own potters and from some specially selected potters from around the southeast and continental U.S.

We are located on the Scenic 197 Moonshine Highway 10 miles north of Clarkesville, Georgia.

All of the pottery at Mark of the Potter is handcrafted in the U.S.A.

Special thanks to all the friends, neighbors and visitors locally and from around the world.  Mark of the Potter would not be the same without you!

All of our pottery is food safe using only lead-free glazes and clays.  Microwave safe and most are oven safe too.  They can be washed in the dishwasher or as some customers prefer, hand washed.

Recent Activities

Recent happenings and stuff coming up...

We are getting in new pots now plus cookin' up our own batches.  We've recently received pots from Lora Rust, Dancing Dragonfly, In The Stix and Cornell to mention a few.

Our next kiln firing is July.
We plan to unload Thursday, Jul 16th.

Here are a couple of photos, examples of our artistic potters' work.  We have more photos on our
facebook page and plenty more pots in the shop.  Y'all come on out and say hello!
