About Our Artists

Mark of the Potter has four house potters:
Matt Henderson, Maraiah Wenn, Mary Towers Weese and Mary Ann Lesterdiedrick.
Each artist has a unique style and mark, even though they share the same glaze palette.  To help our customers know what is
home-baked, we mark our pots with a little yellow dot.  For variety and to support our local clay community, we buy from
another 20-30 artists throughout the southeast region.

When We Fire Our Pots Our kiln area is not open to the public due to safety reasons, but we are more than happy to share about our firing methods and the pottery making process.  We fire approximately every three to four weeks in a 100 cubic foot gas kiln (located safely away from the shop).  It takes us all of those three or four weeks to fill every bit of that kiln, so if you special order something, it usually takes 6-8 weeks for it be finished based on where we are in the kiln cycle and how many orders there are before yours. Please be patient.  We take pride in making good work, so we like to think it will be worth the wait! Below is our kiln schedule.  Pots are unloaded in the morning and brought over to the shop typically after Noon. Tentative Firing Schedule *always subject to minor change September 9th (Thursday) October 7th (Thursday) October 28th (Thursday) November 18th (Thursday) December 16th (Thursday)
